I'm John Walker and I've been passionate about fishing for over 40 years.  I love sharing the sport with friends and family, especially my three sons, Jake, Max and Charlie. I consider fostering their love of the ocean and fishing part of my legacy and hope they'll pass it on to their children someday. Legacy Custom Rods was a long time in the making and something that I dreamed about while spending countless hours at the baseball field with the boys. I love baseball and I love fishing and for years, thinking about fishing and the perfect rod while on the sidelines was the only way to combine my two favorite activities. I'm grateful to still be cheering Charlie on in his college baseball career, but with the Little League schedule behind me and more time available, Legacy Custom Rods  is finally a reality. With Max as my apprentice, I'm happy that the legacy is taking hold! We hope you'll create your own fishing legacy and that your custom rod will play a big part.

We custom-build inshore, offshore and fly fishing rods to meet every need. Our custom design process means our rods represent your imagination, from custom colors that reflect your personality or important moments in your life to customized reel seats, grips, wraps and accents. You're not just buying a rod, you're building it. 

What else sets us apart? Visual design matters and you can have fun with that, but our build process means we're also optimizing ergonomic features, maximizing physics for a better fight and overall functionality. We'll talk through grip positioning, casting dynamics and grip design to match the angler. We triple-wrap our guides and pay special care to the epoxy bonding process to ensure durability and the highest level of performance. We combine technology and artistry to bring you the finest fishing rods on the market and our customization process means you get the look you want with the performance you deserve. 

Need a reel to complete the package? We can provide that as well. All of our products are carefully selected to ensure top quality and performance and we'll help you determine the best reel to fit your style of fishing. 

Our rod-building process includes conversation and consultation to ensure you get the perfect rod. Store bought rods are uniform in both look and fit, no matter the size of the angler. Consider the difference between an 8 year old and an adult, a 5' 2" and a 6' 2" angler, yet store bought rods are all the same. At Legacy, we'll walk you through the customization process and cover every detail to ensure a personalized look, fit and feel, no matter your age or size.
